LIMES - Watercolour Happy Birthday

Welcome to this week's LIMES inspiration post!

I chose this card as my inspiration from the gallery of this week’s Splitcoaststampers Featured Stamper:

LIST: Colours (navy, purple, green, gold) , Techniques (watercolour, die cutting) , Elements (diagonally split watercolour panel with delicate gold die cut over top. scalloped edge)

INCLUDE: navy, purple, green, gold, watercolour, die cutting, diagonally split watercolour panel

MODIFY: delicate embossing instead of die cut, additional die cut/embossed circles, added a sentiment, card instead of tag

EXCLUDE: scalloped edges

SPIN:

I have been really enjoying playing with simple watercolour techniques lately, and this one is the easiest. Just put down blobs of colour and layer them up to create a pretty, varied background. I stamped a delicate stamp over top and embossed it with shiny gold powder. I guess other than the watercolour, the main connection to my inspiration is the diagonal split although again, mine is slightly different. And then I just couldn’t resist using the leftovers of my A2 panel to cut some circles to add interest and dimension.
